L'Oratoire Saint-Joseph est une église très importante de Montréal (Québec). Cet établissement catholique est situé sur le flanc nord-ouest du Mont Royal. L'élément secondaire du site est la basilique catholique. Structure unique, les dimensions de la basilique et de son dôme sont impressionnantes. Le dôme a 60m de hauteur interne et 39m de diamètre et sa croix, point culminant de Montréal, atteint 300m. Dans les jardins de l'Oratoire, on peut suivre un chemin de croix grandeur nature, inauguré en 1951, peuplé de sculptures représentant la Passion du Christ.

Inauguré en 1904 à l'initiative du Frère André (Alfred Bessette), les travaux de l'ensemble du lieu se terminèrent en 1967.

Le tout domine la ville de son imposante silhouette. Le dôme peut être vu de plusieurs endroits dans la ville et même de l'extérieur de l'ile. Il est le troisième plus grand au monde après celui de la basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix de Yamoussoukro et de la basilique Saint-Pierre de Rome.

C'est le lieu de pèlerinage le plus important dédié à Saint-Joseph à travers le monde. Il attire environ deux millions de visiteurs chaque année, provenant de toutes les parties du monde. C'est aussi la plus grande église du Québec et du Canada. L'oratoire a fêté, en 2004, son 100e anniversaire.

L'Oratoire a été reconnu comme un lieu historique national du Canada le 3 mai 2004.

The "Oratoire Saint-Joseph" is a very important church in Montreal (Quebec). This Catholic establishment is located on the northwest flank of "Mont Royal". The secondary element of the site is Catholic Basilica. Unique structure, the dimensions of the basilica and its dome is impressive. The dome is 60 meters internal high and 39 meters diameter and the cross, the culmination of Montreal, reaches 300 meters. In the gardens of the Oratory, one can follow a life-size Stations of the Cross, inaugurated in 1951, populated by sculptures representing the Passion of Christ.

Inaugurated in 1904 at the initiative of Frère André (Alfred Bessette), the work of the whole place ended in 1967.

This imposing silhouette dominates all the town. The dome can be seen from several places in the city and even from outside the island. It is the third largest in the world after that of the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro and Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome.

This is where the most important pilgrimage dedicated to St. Joseph throughout the world. It attracts about two million visitors every year, from all parts of the world. This is also the largest church of Quebec and Canada.

The oratory feast, in 2004, its 100th anniversary. The Oratory has been recognized as a National Historic Site of Canada May 3, 2004.
